Le Soutien à l’Ecole de la Pagode du Bayon (SEP of Bayon) is an association created in 2005, to promote the education of poor children in the Angkor temples region.
While a third of the population lives below the threshold of absolute poverty in Cambodia, few resources are allocated to education, thus causing a lack of infrastructure and qualified teachers.
The project
In Siem Reap, SEP du Bayon finances the education of nearly 400 young people, from primary school to university or vocational training. The association builds and renovates buildings, provides equipment and tutoring, English or traditional dance lessons.
Our engagement
In 2019, we participate in the financing of initiation courses in traditional art of puppet making and animation for Khmer marionettes.
Since 2018, our commitment totaled 4,000 €.
