DGDH – NEPAL

DGDH (a French acronym for “Of Georisks and Men”) is an association created in 2013 to preserve the Himalayan populations located downstream of glacial lakes and whose natural dams are likely to break.
This glacier diminution and lake forming phenomenon has been induced by global warming. Its consequences during flood periods are dramatic: torrential lavas destroy villages and crops.

The project DGDH has trained a team of scientist engineers to provide an analysis of the priorities concerning 2000 listed lakes in Nepal. Our action  In Nepal, we are supporting the pilot project for Thulagi Lake which is located at the foot of the Manaslu to prevent risks and conduct the appropriate work at low costs.   Since 2013, our commitment has totaled 7,500 €.
