KOKOPELLI – COSTA RICA

Founded in 1999, Kokopelli works to develop sustainable agriculture and protect biodiversity in food. The association is present in a dozen countries and in Costa Rica since 2010 to respond to one of the highest levels of use of fertilizers and chemical phytosanitary products in the world, which causes deforestation and contaminates the air and the soil.

The project In the San José region, Kokopelli helps to structure networks of small producers who are involved in the preservation and production of natural seed and thus ensure their autonomy in the face of chemical industries. Our action Since 2013, Kokopelli has been conducting active campaigns to raise awareness on GMO issues and provides training on the natural production of seeds, organic agriculture and beekeeping. A Seed Production Community Center was created in Atenas and is managed with passion by the women.   Since 2013, our commitment has totaled 8,500 €.
