NEBEDAY – SENEGAL

Nebeday, which means “tree of life”, is a Senegalese association created in 2011. It works for the preservation and development of natural resources, and the economic development of the Sine Saloum regions: the Saloum islands form an enclaved area, the Serer and Mandingo ethnic groups who live there are particularly dependent on natural resources.



The project The association supports female entrepreneurship through a cooperative of 900 women who are specialized in beekeeping and reforestation.   Our engagement Since 2013, we have supported the training of women in beekeeping, as well as the intensification of organic moringa production and the processing of products (mangrove honey, mud powder and coffee, moringa candies, jams, straw charcoal) in the women's cooperative.   Since 2011, our commitment has totaled 49,000 €.
