POMME CANNELLE – NEPAL

Pomme Cannelle is a French association created in 2001 which helps the street children of Kathmandu. As a partner of End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and the Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT), Pomme Cannelle provides care for over 1000 children: emergency shelter, access to health care, schooling, vocational training, reintegration, and return to the family.

The project Pomme Cannelle organizes events to inform tourists on street issues. Our action In 2013, we supported "consolidation" activities concerning the mothers of the hosted children. 27 mothers were able to benefit from the program and participate in various workshops (literacy, health, education, cooking). Thanks to the setting-up of a microcredit fund which is specific to this "family consolidation" program, 17 mothers have received a microcredit loan.In 2014, Pomme Cannelle wished to continue family consolidation and provided sewing courses to 15 women in order to enable them to further access economic autonomy.   Since 2009, our commitment has totaled 17,400 €.
