Sumac Muyu is an Ecuadorian Foundation for the protection of the environment. It fights to preserve the ecosystems of the Rio Bigal reserve and educates the local populations about reasoned management of natural resources.
The project
Sumac Muyu offers access to education for the most disadvantaged through training courses that are held in remote community schools.
Our action
We are helping to finance vocational training for 80 peasants: ecological agriculture, sustainable management of bamboos, rainwater collection. We are also helping with ecotourism guide training and environmental awakening courses provided to 20 children.
In 2011, our support totaled 2,000 €.
