EMERGENCY IN SOMALIA

The Horn of Africa has been experiencing its most serious drought for over half a century and is a victim of a famine which, according to the United Nations (UN), has affected nearly 10 million people in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya.
Every day, thousands of victims flee Somalia to take refuge in Kenya in makeshift camps.

The project Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provides medical care and treats malnutrition in eight regions of southern Somalia. All the teams have been mobilized to provide psychological consultations, and distribute first necessity and food ration kits. Action Against Hunger (ACF), which is already extremely active in this region, has increased its activities in terms of malnutrition treatment, medical care, access to drinking water and hygiene. Our engagement In 2011, our commitment totaled 8,500 €.
