LA GAMELLE DE JAURES

Marion Osmont

Several hundreds to several thousands of Afghans, Eritreans, Ethiopians, Sudanese, and Somalis,
depending on the periods, sleep in the street every night in northeastern Paris,
and more specifically under the Porte de la Chapelle bypass bridge.

La gamelle de Jaurès distributes hot meals two evenings per week to homeless migrants
who live in the Porte de la Chapelle district.

The project The association also distributes warm clothes and hygiene kits. The volunteers also endeavor to find accommodation for the most vulnerable people, particularly women with children and unaccompanied minors during the winter months. The team is comprised of about 50 regular volunteers. In 2018, our support totaled 5000 €.
